Chippy the Chipmunk

Once upon a time, tucked deep into the forest, there lived a little chipmunk named Chippy. Chippy was a very happy chipmunk, nothing could get him feeling down. Even during the autumn acorn crisis of 2018, where no chipmunks could find any acorns, Chippy remained optimistic. He had a smile on his face and whistled happy tunes despite his father shooting himself in the head and blasting his brains all over the wall, due to the great acorn shortage.

Many chipmunks committed suicide that fall season by jumping off trees to their ultimate demise. It was indeed a fall season.

But not Chippy.

No, Chippy was different. Chippy kept that smile going through the winter and into spring, where he then carried it over to the summer and back into the next autumn.

You see, Chippy was deeply depressed, but he kept his pain hidden inside and used his happy exterior to mask the truth. He wasn't a very happy chipmunk after all.
